You Don't Need to Be a Business Owner to Need a Consultant — Here's Why

If you've spent any time on my website, you've probably noticed a lot of language about businesses — business challenges, business goals, business success. That's real, and it's a big part of what I do. But it's not the whole picture, and I want to be direct about that.

You don't need to own a business to bring a problem to me.

Consulting, at its core, is about applying outside expertise to a situation you're too close to see clearly. Businesses have understood this for a long time — that's why consultants exist as an industry. But individuals face complex, high-stakes decisions too, and most people navigate them completely on their own, simply because it doesn't occur to them that help is available, or that they're “allowed” to ask for it.

I've built my career on exactly the kind of skills that apply just as well to a personal situation as a corporate one: finance administration at a Fortune 500 company, fraud detection, running my own international business, and — closer to home — advocating for my own child through the special education system. None of that expertise cares whether the person in front of me has an LLC.

If you're navigating a major financial decision, untangling a confusing situation, preparing for a big life change, or just want someone with an analytical, no-nonsense approach to look at your situation with you, that's exactly the kind of work I do. Whether you bring me a business plan or a stack of paperwork from your kitchen table, my approach is the same: listen carefully, dig into the details, and help you find a clear path forward.

So consider this an open invitation. You don't need a business card to walk through my door.
